Welcome to my new Blog

As you can see, I have finished piecing the Hello Sunshine quilt. There are a few elements to be added after the quilting, but at least you can see how the fabrics work together in the kit I have chosen. It was a fun project to sew, combining piecing, raw edge machine applique and hand embroidery. The 3-D elements such as the flowers, pinwheels, balloons and ruching (when added) will make it a very tactile quilt. I just love the watermelon fabric on the border, it's what drew me to the quilt. I can't help but think of eating watermelon on a hot summer day!

It will be great to see everyone's versions as they are completed. You can upload your photos to the Facebook Group - Quiltalongs and Projects from Sew Bright Alpine Quilting. It is a closed group, so if you are not a member yet, just click on the join button.

I have made up a few more kits, which are available in store and online. The kit contains the Hello Sunshine book and a selection of fat quarters and metreage as pictured. There are seven projects in the book, including the quilt, two table runners, two wall hangings and two styles of pillows/cushion covers.

The quilt is on display in the big window box outside the shop. You can't miss it!
