CLASS LIST SPRING 2009
Spring is a favourite season of mine as all the flowers start to bloom after the cold winter. It’s time to get out & about, smell the flowers, let our imaginations bloom and start new projects. I hope the following classes will provide you with the inspiration you need to get sewing, learn new techniques, catch up with old ones, meet new friends and have some fun along the way.
Please come into the shop, check the prices, project requirements and register for the class you wish to take. Payment is required when registering.

- BEGINNERS PATCHWORK - PRECIOUS PIECES QUILT
Monthly – 1st Monday 10am to 2pm
September 7, October 4, November 9, December 7 continuing in New Year
Pattern purchase required $35.95
Class cost $5 per session
This upbeat sampler quilt uses modern techniques & lots of embellishment, but still has an old world charm out it. Each month new techniques are explored taking us on a creative learning journey, building our skills as we go. Learn how to use your sewing machine effectively, improve your cutting and sewing skills, and make this fabulous quilt along the way
- ART QUILT EXPREIMENTING
Monthly – 3rd Mondays 10am to 3pm
September 21, October 18, November 16, December 21, continuing in new year

Art quilt experimenting offers you the oportunity to experiment with art quilts, learn new techniques and play with a range of exotic products. Each month create small projects, such as journal quilts, postcards or ATC’s using different techniques from an exiting range of fibres, paints, foils, Angelina and more. The techniques can later be incorporated into other projects.
3D FLOWERS FAN WALL HANGING – suit someone looking for a challenge
Weekly -Wednesdays 10am to 3m
Workbook purchase required $22
Class cost $10 per session
This wall hanging incorporates some great techniques which you will find useful for many other projects, including embellishing quilts or features on handbags and other items. We will make all the flowers first and then add the flowers, branches and leaves to the fan after it has been quilted. A mixture of hand piecing, machine piecing and quilting techniques and tips will be used.
** Quilt will not be finished in one session
GADGETS & GIZMO’S
Weekly –Thursdays 10am to 12pm
See demo’s of the latest gadgets and gizmo’s. A different product featured each week
Weekly – Thursdays 12pm – 4pm

This gorgeous children’s quilt is made using a ‘Layer cake’. You will learn quick easy piecing techniques to make this quilt and pillows

Pick a pattern and some fabric and I will help you make your very own one of a kind handbag.
SWEET n SASSY QUILT
Weekly - Fridays 10am to 3pm
COST: $10
Pattern $19.95
This crazy patchwork quilt is reversible and made in the quilt as you go method. The blocks are pieced and quilted all in the same step and the quilt constructed with the help of 1” bias tape maker. **Fabric must be precut before attending the class. Quilt may not be finished in one session, optional finishing sessions available for $5 each session
- GET TO KNOW THANGLES – suit beginners or advanced
Monthly – 3r Saturday 10am to 3pm

Class cost $25
Thangles are the fast, easy and accurate way to make half square triangles. Use the specially designed paper templates to create perfect half square triangles every time. This project will introduce you to Thangles and you can complete a number of blocks to make a lap quilt, wall hanging or two cushions. One packet of Thangles included in class price.
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Monthly –4th Saturday 10am – 1pm
COST: $10

Join in the fun of making your own decorations for the Christmas tree, a tree skirt, Wall hanging or special table centre.
- STITCH & TELL SESSIONS
Daily, except Tuesdays Mornings 10am to 1pm Afternoons 2pm to 5pm
Sit and sew and chat with others. This is the perfect time to finish those UFO’s, start a new project or look through the magazines and books for inspiration.
Morning sessions are 10am – 1pm. Afternoon sessions are 2pm - 5pm.
**Group sessions available with pre-booking
**Please note: no afternoon sessions on the weekends.
