Weekend in Victor Harbor

Last weekend I travelled to Victor Harbor, just over an hour south of Adelaide to attend a workshop with Lisa Walton from Dyed & Gone to Heaven. Lisa was teaching her Textured Treasures class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We spent the weekend painting fabrics, carving stamps, using stencils and rubbing plates to create texture and patterns on the fabrics.

The stencil was painted with Jacquard Lumiere paints onto a previously hand dyed fabric. I am looking forward to quilting it.

This piece was created by mopping up a previously painted surface. The technique is a really cool way of reducing waste and you never know what you are going to get.

So after you create your fabrics, Lisa gets you to chop them up, rearrange and sew them back together, pretty cool ha!
If you would like to know more about creating your own fabrics, send me an email, telephone or come into the shop. Keep checking the website for new products and classes in art quilting and art journalling.
