Out & About

Posted 3/7/2015

Winter in Bright is a very quiet time for the shop, so I take the opportunity to take the shop on the road and attend Craft Alive at various locations around Victoria and southern New South Wales.

The first show we attended was in Shepparton at the end of May. The show returned to Shepparton after a years' absence and was moved to a new location in other part of the show grounds. Although the hall was smaller than previous, the show was well laid out and our location was excellent.

It was the first time we showed off the Paradise in Blooms quilt and although we didn't sell any kits, it was certainly noticed and visitors appreciated the amount of work which went into it's construction. (This version was made by Joanne Wearing from Qld, our shop sample is still under construction).

The second show was in Bendigo at the end of June. This was the third time we had travelled to Bendigo and the show was huge. The largest number of stands and there was also an attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people crocheting simultaneously. Unfortunately they were 12 people short!! Better luck next year. They also held an Instagram meetup with bloggers Angie @GnomeAngel and Gemma @PrettyBobbins.

The third show is in Wodonga, the first weekend of July  and although smaller by comparison to Bendigo, it is the closest one to Bright and I enjoy being able to "take the shop" as lots of my regular customers  are from the Albury/Wodonga region.

The fourth and last show for me for the year is in Wagga Wagga at the end of July. I will let you know how I get on after I get back.
